What is FAB LAB 36Inc?

Started in June 2017, the lab is a member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Fab Lab. Here, school children, college students, entrepreneurs and business houses prototype and materialize their ideas. We strive to share machines, tools, skills, resources and ideas among the community to create increased opportunities for economic and social benefit.


Who can join?

FAB Lab is a space where people with similar interests come to interact, exchange and develop their idea. It is open for anyone who wishes to visit the space to create. The lab is open for workshops for projects in Robotics, 3D printing, Electronics, Digital Fabrication, etc. With the support of Atal Tinkering Labs, even the school students can approach FAB Lab 36Inc.

Laser Engraver

A laser engraver uses a laser beam to cut through a sheet of material some of which are wood, plastics, rubber or even leather. The laser cutter can also engrave metal or stone to a limited depth. The metal sheet can be cut and bend into a variety of shapes finding numerous applications in car bodies, airplane wings and many other things.

A computer numerical control (CNC) router is a cutting machine related to the hand-held router used for cutting various hard materials, such as wood, aluminum, plastics, etc controlled by computers. A CNC router can be used in the production of items, such as door carvings, interior and exterior decorations, furniture, etc.

3D Printer

3D Printer

3D printing or additive manufacturing is the creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the object is created. 3D printing enables you to produce complex (functional) shapes using less material than traditional manufacturing methods.

Vinyl Cutter

A vinyl cutter is a computer-controlled machine. Like a printer controls a nozzle, the computer controls the movement of a sharp blade of the machine. This blade cuts out the desired shapes and letters from thin self-adhesive plastic sheets called vinyl. The prime limitation with these cutters is the restriction to cut shapes from only solid colored sheets of vinyl.

The "picture" as produced describes the distance of object to the surface at each point in the picture. This device is used extensively by the entertainment industry in the production of movies and video games, including virtual reality.
